Re: Vidja games
I recently retrieved the PS3 and had another go at New Vegas (mainly due to the Fallout TV show which is extremely good). Bit clunky even compared to PS4 stuff obviously, but still fun and absorbing and worth a few hours.

Re: Music tech shops
I need to find somewhere as well. Not saying the last night under the old regime at The Moorbrook descended into drunken looting, but I woke up with a damaged violin. I cannot play the violin, and have never harboured ambitions to, but hey, free violin

Yeah, it's a bit VU, bit Patti Smith, but with British Posh Lass vocals. The fact I like it probably means it's instantly cringe and will be forgotten within 6 months

Re: Describe your political journey from 2006 to now
Not sure I've really had a journey. Not since 2006, by that time I'd already moved on from my lunatic teenage Marxist phase (which went into my 20s an embarrassingly long time). Still a fairly tedious centre-left dad. Wanting a government somewhat further left, realising that's unlikely to ...

The Child (not the one who is on here, t'other one) dragged me along to see Black Country New Road, who were inoffensive enough but middling. Support act was this lot who I really liked.

I've reached the point where before leaving the pub, even the one barely 6 minutes walk from my front door, I TRY to have a slash even if I don't need one, just in case.doktorb wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 9:59 am The middle-aged wee. I've got an even weaker one that that. I matched and online flirted with a lass for a while but we never actually got round to meeting IRL. She went on to be The Vixen from out of off of The Chase.

Ok, seeing as everyone on here except my kid is now ancient, what's the bleakest, most ridiculously old thing about you?
I have gout. I mean who gets fucking gout in this day and age? It's like having dropsy or the ague or an imbalance of the humours.

Re: Job hunting moan
Pointless credentialism is my current bugbear. Not just jobs that specify graduate without any need - the other day a mate put me on to a vacancy at his place, doing same job as him. Got refused because I don't have a driving licence. He's been there 10 years and never had to drive once.

Tbh him and mam seem OK with day to day life. Like the dad of Shite 80s Observational Comedy, he never got the hang of setting the video to record stuff, so tech ineptitude isn't much use as an assessment of dementia
